Project 365. One photo everyday for a year...

March 26th
Fell asleep in the sun today. Best nap I had in a long time, woke up to Bella licking my face :) Not the best wake-up call I've ever had but I think she was just telling me the sun had moved and I was in the shade. So I rolled myself into the sunny warm patch beside me and went back to dreamland :)

March 25th
There is only one thing to do on a day like today, go for a row in the boat. This is a yearly occurrence for us, or any time the sun comes out. This is The Dusk, made by Jonny's granda. It's always great to get out on the water and thanks to Mark we had a wee flask of tea to enjoy as we drifted out to sea :)

March 24th
What a great day we had today, the final of The Quays next top Model arrived. Three catwalk walk shows, a series of little interviews, a lot deliberation and the winner was announced.  Congratulations to Mary, she's a wee star in the making :) Driving away I noticed this, a lovely oversized print featuring one of my images, I think I peed a little at my excitement  (not really). But I did contain myself enough to pull in and snap this quick shot, made my day even better :D

Starry Night

Project 265. One photo everyday for a year...

March 23rd
Doing my bit for charity. Tonight me and Ray went down to join in the fun at the local leisure centre and help raise some money for sports relief. Damian was rallying the troops and run a mile on the treadmill was the name of the game. We went a wee short walk along the sea front first to catch up and warm up the old muscles in preparation for the big run. I say 'big' because I'm not a particularly good runner and also because I have no sense of distance and I wasn't quite sure how long a mile was. Turns out it wasn't that far, 11 minutes or so later, slightly sweaty, red faced , very out of breath and beaming with pride, I was done :) If anyone knows if I beat any kind of record for running a mile in that amount of time please do let me know...

March 22nd
I hate having my photo taken, unless I'm drunk :) But this is something I'm determined to get over. I don't actually mind the taking picture part, looking down the lens and that, it's after when you look at them that I don't like. Even if your  in the middle of a crowed of friends you eye will immediately go to yourself and squirm . But I don't want to be invisible in this project so I'll continue with these for the days I get stuck :)

March 21st
Tonight I went to see Nederlands Dans Theater. I refrained all day from taking a photo in the hope I might sneak one tonight. The opera house are particularly strict so I scanned the area and decided to befriend the little lady taking tickets. Little ladies love me :) I first made contact when I gave her £3 in exchange for  a programme.  She was lovely just as I'd hoped and seemed to warm to me when she realised I had the correct change for her. People who are selling things like that. I decided then to ask her if it was possible to speak to someone who could give me permission to take a photo during the show. She suggested the manager but said that there was no chance she would agree to it. That was intermission 1. At the second interval as I walked out she remembered me and asked if I resisted the urge to take a photo, I decided them to be honest. I told her about my 365 project and how and how this would be a great photo for today and she agreed, result! As everyone was back in their seats for the last part of the show, she said to me with a wink," I'm going to shut the door'" at last we were on the same page. I snapped this quick shot of the beginning of the best dance piece I have ever seen and watched the rest content from my seat :)

March 20th
A late night walk around Carnfunnok in search of a photo. Nothing. On the way back to the car I noticed this nice tree behind a little house. I immediately lay on the ground and started snapping :) I love the colours my camera picks up in long exposures it always surprises me, every time. I spent the next half hour on the ground taking photos looking into the sky :)

March 19th
I love wee Bella :)

March 18th
After  a mad, tiring two days before we decided that Sunday was for relaxing. We lazed about all morning and in the afternoon when for a walk around the K Club. Yellow and purple as far and the eye can see. First sign of spring. And a happy mother's day to my wee mum :)

March 17th
Dublin for St. Paddy's day. My little cousin was in a parade so we went down to cheer her on from the sidelines, complete with a sleeve of shamrock tattoos which Erin kindly decorated my arm with while I tried to eat breakfast with one hand. Before we left for the Parade we took her new puppy for a walk. This is Bow Tiger Lilly :)

March 16th
St Georges Market, up bright and early 6:30am to be exact, which turned out to be way to early because they hadn't even set up yet. So off we went in search of a brew. I for one can't function before a good cup of tea, the first cup with breakfast powered me enough to make it to Belfast and this one would see me through the rest of the morning, well that was the hope, I make the best cup of tea and this one did not live up to my high standards...it was yuk in a cup. So back to the market we went, it was great apart from the section at the back which can only be described as a sea food graveyard :( Poor dead fish & suffocating crabs foaming at the mouth did not sit well with me, I preferred the other end with cupcakes, flowers and vintage treasures :) Oh and these olives. Finished the day off in a little pup in Dublin celebrating with a bunch of Cheltenham Cup winners and a big gold horse trophy  that I couldn't lift :)

March 15th - Bed is calling me...early start tomorrow. Visiting St Georges Market and our aim is to be there for 6:15. The only time I am ever out of the house at that time is to catch a flight to an exotic  foreign land, but not this time. Belfast is as far as I'll get :)

March 14th - I'm helping Peter with a personal project of his at the minute 'Working in Belfast' Today we went to a local Timber mill, never seen so much wood in my life. So yesterday I saw the tress in their natural habitat and today I see what happens when they get chopped down and taken away...I prefer yesterday's trees.

March 13th - Rare day off today so I headed up to Balleyboley forest near the reservoir, just for a wee walk and to get some fresh air. Peaceful and quiet, it was nice to get away and be in the wilderness even just for a few hours.

March 12th - Look who was waiting for me in the garden when I got home tonight :) I heard her before I seen her. First she lets out this high pitched little cry of uncertainty when she suspects someone is coming, , then she realises it's me and starts stamping her two fronts paws and doing twirls of excitement :) she poked her little nose through for a sniff and then ran to the door, best welcome home ever :)

Project 365. One photo everyday for a year...

March 11th - My wee motor. I took a break from editing today to give her a good clean. I love this car. I got it about 18months ago when I was going through a shit time. I kept thinking today how much has changed since I got it and how this little car has probably been a key ingredient to all the good things that happened to me.  She's very old, sometimes I go out in the morning and there's a new part fallen off on the drive e.g. a wing mirror, some metal thing that fell from underneath that I obviously didn't need cause it's still in the garden, some panelling, although I think I lost that up the M2  somewhere...she has a pretty pattern on her bonnet that was probably the result of a battery acid attack. I think her last owner didn't look after her properly but it gives her character and the distinctive markings means I can pick her out in a crowded car park at a glance :) Sometimes she is just too tired to go anywhere and I have to leave her at home and in the cold weather I have to wrap a blanket round her engine just to see her through the night. All this just makes her more special, where would I be without you Moira :)

March 10th - Theses are two of my bestest friends Christine and Claire, Emma you were there in spirit. We met up today in Belfast, if you saw us I apologise. When we get together we turn into those girls you hate, loud, laughing at everything trying to embarrass each other any chance we get, we are in our own wee bubble where age and decadence don't exist , all that matters is we have fun and we always do. They begged me to be in my 365 today, I didn't even have to ask them to do anything, they already had a full range of cheesy and inappropriate poses lined up :) Again if you saw us I apologise. Reality hit after our little impromptu photo shoot when they realised I had recorded everything, then came the rules of what I could and could not use :) I have been kind with these four shots, the rest I will keep as collateral :)

March 9th - These are my granny's tea cups, we keep them in a cupboard in the kitchen they are for looking at not using. Such a shame, I think they are beautiful. Apparently you can't stack 5 tea cups (learned that the hard way...) but you can stack 4 :)

March 8th - Feeling more human as the days go on :) Took a wee detour on my way home from Belfast today. I wanted to make these trees look as small as they did to me from the road side.

March 7th - Feeling a little better today but still not great. Three days stuck in bed is taking it's toll on me. I went a wee drive tonight with my friend. This was taken outside Carrick Castle, just trying some long exposures over the marine.

March 6th - Woke up today feeling worse again, all snuffly, bunged head, no energy. The only thing I have an appetite for is my mums homemade soda...yum. I took a batch to bed with a nice cuppa tea and stayed there all day.

March 5th - Came home from Belfast today and felt rubbish, the flu has been working on me all day :( I've no energy, hot frothy chocolate and bed early for me.
